The concept
Conceived by scientists for scientists
Cosymbio was the idea of a group of researchers and entrepreneurs based in Barcelona with many years of experience in the biotech and startup sectors, trying to address one big issue: the lack of laboratory spaces available to small start-ups. The few ones that exist are expensive, outside the main city centers and not adapted to the startup needs. Also, it is difficult for these companies to get access to the resources needed to develop their projects and for business operations, or accessing funding rounds.
With the creation of Cosymbio our aim is to create an environment that facilitates and promotes the growth of biotech start-ups. The foundation stone of this project is Cosymbio Labs Barcelona-Poblenou, the first biotechnology collaboration space in Barcelona, which is one of the most relevant biotechnology hubs in Europe.
